Is Virtual Training right for me?
It may be exactly what you want. Because classes are offered by topic, you can choose to focus your learning on a specific aspect of the product.
How will I get hands-on practice?
SPSS classes are designed to provide hands-on practice as a key part of the learning experience. You will be asked to use your computer to complete the learning exercises. You will complete them from your location - just as if you were in one of our public classrooms.
Will I get bored?
Classes have been designed to address topics from our full-day classes and have a seat time ranging from 90 minutes to 3 hours. Just like a face-to-face class, you will be given breaks, engaged with exercises, and have the ability to ask questions of the trainer (privately and publicly).
How will I hear the trainer?
Each class is assigned a telephone number for the audio. You dial into it a just like attending a conference call.
How will I ask questions?
The environment has been designed to mirror the best features of classroom learning while adding features specific to the Internet. Just like in a classroom, you can get the instructor’s attention by raising your hand. The instructor sees an icon on screen next to your name that indicates that you have a question. If you’d like to ask your question privately, you can select the instructor from a drop-down list and chat privately without others hearing or reading your comments.
What type of materials will I receive?
You will receive a copy of our course materials about the topic that you are learning prior to the attending a live web based course. Just like a standard course book, it will have all lecture and handouts.
What will I need?
You will need a computer, a telephone, and a quiet space to work.
Will you still offer public classes?
Absolutely, we will continue to offer public courses in each of our training sites. Classrooms are very effective learning environments and represent the learning style of many students.
When taking an on-line class from your office, it is important to be able to focus on the course, material and instructor. We recommend the following:
